We are not a used car.
“What’s it going to take to get you into Noema today?”
My biggest problem with this process was the idea that I had to “sell” my school, or my educational philosophy to parents. And I hated that. I hated the idea that I might have to do some slimey sales tactics in order to convince parents to sign their kids up for Noema Learning.
Education should never be for sale. So the idea that I might have to find some kind of sales pitch in order to get people on board, was a hurdle I didn’t want to overcome. “Selling” my microschool felt icky and wrong.
So, I haven’t been doing that.
I’m not selling anything. I’m not trying to “girl boss” my way through education. I’m not sliding into old high school friends DMs with one of those “Hey Hun! 💖🤩🫶😘” type messages. I’m not recruiting. I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything.
Here’s my simply way of getting students to come to Noema: tell them about Noema.
Period.
When I had my first parent meeting, I was clear with them about this. I simply said “I am not going to convince you to come to Noema. I am going to tell you about my personal philosophy. I am going to tell you about my plans. And if all of that aligns, and you’re student would thrive here, excellent! And if what I am doing doesn’t align and you’re student wouldn’t thrive here, we’ll find something else for guys!”
Noema Learning is not a used car. I am not trying to to get you into Noema by any means necessary. Not at all.
I am dedicated to give students a personalized and fun learning experience. I plan to get students to learn to think critically and learn in a style that best suits them. I plan to show students how fun education can be.
If you like that sound of all that, GREAT! Let’s chat about what Noema Learning can do with your student. And if that doesn’t sound great, let’s find you an educational option that best suits your student.
At the end of the day, no one should convince you about the type of school your student should have. That is no one’s choice but yours and your student’s.
